Meredith Salenger

Salenger was born and grew up in Malibu, California. She was an avid child and enjoyed performing in front of her loved ones and relatives. She was taken by her mother to her first class in acting when she was 8 years old. Her first role was in a minor role as an 'orphan who sings and dances in the film Annie directed by John Huston. Salenger has also been featured in a few television commercials. Salenger's first starring role was part of the Disney movie The Journey of Natty Gann costarring John Cusack and Ray Wise and was the very first US movie to win the gold award during the Moscow Film Festival. Additionally, she was awarded "Best Female actor in a drama" in the Youth in Film Awards in the recognition of her character as the sexy Natty. In her early 20s, she also acted in four films, one of which was A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon. Following that, she went to Harvard in order to further her education.
